CIRCA ET CETERA BEERWAH CULTURAL ACTIVITIES SEPTEMBER 2003 ------------------------- You missed a great show in Beerwah over the weekend. The circus came to town and performed on Friday and saturday nights. Eyewitnesses report it was attended by 0 [zero] people on Friday and 6 [six] people on Saturday. They had a small pony which livened proceedings. There are rumours that most of saturday's attendees had been given free tickets. Long live Beerwah ------------------------- I attended a similar performance at Landsborough a few years ago. Could have been the same pony. This was in Landsborough's cultural heyday, before being eclipsed by Beerwah. ------------------------- how many people were in the crowd? tht damn pony sure gets around. never knew Landsborough was a serious rival to beerwah. always saw it as a backwater. beerwah, as we know, has never been a backwater. ------------------------- 10, including the pony occasionally. ------------------------- Landsborough must have been gridlocked as the patrons poured out of the tent. ------------------------- it was utter chaos. there was a desperate struggle at the tent door as the first 5 patrons tried to leave while the other 5 were entering. Only the masterly intervention of the pony restored some sanity to the proceedings. ------------------------- couple of good rugby games coming ip in the world cup. on sunday the mighty scots play the yankees down in brissie and on monday the coochin mudlarkers play the all blacks at the beerwah sports ground. possibly the pony will make an appearance, it being still tied up next to the woolies carpark. no doubt recovering from its exhausting performance last saturday week. ------------------------- That pony is a well-known Beerwah icon & has served the community well. Like Dobbin in "Animal Farm" he can look forward to a well-earned retirement in Farmer Giles' paddock before his last glorious journey to the Caboolture knackery. Bravo Pony!!
